If you want the vintage Moog synthesizer sound mixed in with the latest and most advanced sound mixing technology, the you cannot go wrong with the Moog little phatty. This synthesizer uses a fully analogue signal path and has 100 presets plus a keyboard with 37 notes. The Little Phatty is a monophonic synthesizer that has two oscillators with a waveform selector that has an oscillator-sync. The selector is variable among the waveforms and the filter has the classic design of the Mood ladder. There are two ADSR generators for both the filter and the volume. The low-frequency oscillator or LFO comes with four destinations, six wave shapes and controls for depth and rate. The Master section comes with controls for Octave Transpose, Tuning, Glide, Pitch and Mod wheels as well as data entry controls.
You will enjoy the Little Phatty’s simple interface and although there are less buttons and knobs, you will not find hidden layers or sub-functions. Moog released two editions for the Little Phatty, the standard and the special edition called the Bob Moog Tribute Edition. For a limited run of about 1,200 units, the Tribute edition offers consumers special Moog side panels made of wood. It also has the Bob Moog signature in a silver plate. The package also comes with a CD-ROM that features that highlights of the Bob Moog Memorial Celebration Service plus a Bob Moog poster.
